THE DAY AFTER Yesterday we observed Resurrection Sunday. So, what are you doing today, “The Day After”? The Disciples returned to their secular occupations when Jesus was no longer with them. You may be asking as I am, “How could they go back to their normal lives after knowing all that Jesus taught them and all that they saw in signs and wonders?” My answer to that is, “We have His Holy Presence, His Word that teaches us, gives us…..
Do Not Condemn Jesus did not condemn – Jesus loved the condemned and still does today! Since Jesus is our example, why are some in the church body condemning people? Romans 14:10 – But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. (Hmmmm, let us think about that.) Years ago, I witnessed a young man who was beginning his walk as a new believer. …..

Build On The Rock The man that replaced Judas Iscariot as one of the twelve disciples was named Matthias. He is only mentioned once in the Bible, but his name means “the gift of the Lord”. Matthias witnessed the ministry of Jesus, when He healed the blind, mute, and deaf, delivered the bound from demons, when He raised Lazarus from the dead. Matthias was a witness to the corrupt government in his day. He was a witness to a corrupt…..
Is Your Marriage Bitter or Better? As you reflect and celebrate your marriage this Valentine’s Day, are you bitter or better because of the spouse you chose? Let us evaluate your answer according to the Word of God. God’s plan for marriage is very clear in His Word. Genesis 2:21-24 – 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib…..
Exuberant Faith As we begin a new year, I pray our focus is on the most important aspects of life. What comes to your mind first? If your response is God and family, then your priorities are aligned with God. I hope to dig a little deeper into the Word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to me further in this coming year. My husband received the words “Exuberant Faith” recently and that is my plan…..
CHRISTMAS LOVE What is Christmas? What is Love? We find these answers in the book of Luke. You may have heard it said that if you read one chapter a day in December, by Christmas you will know Jesus. I go one step further and say that you will have revelation of what Christmas love represents. We celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ at Christmas. We celebrate our Heavenly Father’s gift to us at Christmas. Jesus IS Christmas…..
Giving Thanks During our pre-service prayer this past Sunday, excerpts from Psalm 107 were read to those attending. There was such a sweet presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst, with instrumental worship music playing in the background. Psalms 107:1-2 – 1Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy Yes! God’s mercy endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! We have…..
The Faith of a Child This morning I was driving our precious granddaughter to kindergarten. With excitement in her voice she said, “Hey Grandma, play ‘Let Me Tell You About My Jesus’.” I knew she wanted me to turn on the radio, but she specifically wanted to hear this song. This little one has already invited Jesus into her heart and loves to sing about Jesus. She is very inquisitive about Heaven and God, and loves to hear the stories…..
PEACE John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Have you ever gotten so overwhelmed that you throw up your hands and say, “I can’t handle anymore”? Maybe you just need to stop everything you are doing and find a quiet place to get alone with the Lord. For me, I sit by…..
