Quote from David Wilkerson:
“If you are a Christian, you are in a fierce war. In fact, you are in a life and death battle for your faith. Satan is determined to shipwreck and destroy the faith of all of God’s elect. And the stronger your faith, the greater will be his attack against it. Unshakable faith in the Lord causes hell to rage. Nothing poses a greater threat to Satan’s kingdom than a Christian who is unmovable in faith.”
I realize that most truth-believing Christians are in turmoil, struggling to keep our faith, or walking in a testing of our faith. So, let me ask you, why is your faith being tested?
You are a threat to Satan and all of hell, and he knows his time is short!
1 Timothy 1:19 – having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,
Paul warned Timothy that in times of trial, some would cast aside their faith (made shipwreck). He added that Satan would attempt to overthrow the faith of some, but Paul charged Timothy to fight a determined warfare. We need to have an endurance to the end!
Sometimes we ask, “If God loves me, then why am I suffering so much?”
1 Peter 1:6-7 tells us that our faith is tested by fire; but the present trials are for a little while.
We are wise to remember that 1 Peter 5:8 tells us where our sufferings are coming from – the devil. The Living Bible translation calls him our great enemy and verse 9 says to “Stand firm when he attacks and trust the Lord”.
Verse 9 also tells us that the same sufferings we have are being experienced by our brothers and sisters in Christ all around the world. So, know that we are never alone! God is always with us and there is always someone going through the same thing we are.
1 Peter 5:10 – But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
Knowing this will help us to remain steadfast and faithful unto Him.
Luke 18:8 – when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?
2 Peter 3:14 – be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless
Recently our church posted this on their FB page, and it spoke volumes to me. The quote said, “Christians who neglect the Bible simply do not mature.” There is no one that can debate that comment, for Romans 10:17 tells us, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Our help, our refuge, our peace, our comfort, are all found in the Living Word of God! So, no matter what you need, no matter what your questions are, seek your answers in God’s Word.
A Fight to the Finish
1 Corinthian 9:24-27 – 24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
1 Timothy 6:12 – Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 – 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Hebrews 12:1 – Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us
