It was an amazing opportunity for our granddaughter to snorkel in the Hawaiian Islands this year. The trip to Hawaii was a tremendous blessing from the start, we were there for a family wedding with our granddaughter participating as a flower girl.
While watching our granddaughter snorkel in different areas of The Island with ease and no fear, the term “Unchartered Territory” came to my mind.
We could go in many directions thinking of this title. For instance:
I asked my husband what “Unchartered Territory” meant to him and he responded, “Never been this way before, it’s new, need to use caution.” His statement reminds me to prepare, and to trust.
Remember how God led the Israelites with a cloud by day and fire by night. They definitely were being led into “Unchartered Territory” and had to believe God for every step. That particular cloud and that precise fire was their direction.
When God asks us to trust Him and we agree to obey His command, we know that we may be going into unknown territory or doing a new task. But fully trusting God is knowing that He will also equip us and make the way straight for us.
Our granddaughter felt safe every place she snorkeled because she had her parents by her side. She knew at the first sign of trouble they would be there to save her. She also knew that they would never allow her to be anywhere she would not be safe. She had faith in her parents. Her mind was only on the fun of diving into that water to see what she had not experienced before.
Oh my, it reminds me of the days I would jump in with God and say, “Here am I Lord, use me. Whatever You want to show me, send me.” I have been amazed at all the places we have been, all that God has shown us, and all that we have witnessed of His Glory! I had so much faith in God that His Will and His Presence were all that I desired. It is time for these dry bones to live again as Ezekiel 37 proclaims. Do you want that too? Are you ready for more “Unchartered Territory”? Let’s proclaim it together:
“Father God, You are not a respecter of persons. You brought life to the valley of dry bones in Ezekiel 37 and we require new and revived life within us again today. May we be ready to listen, to hear, ready to be sent, ready to move, to do whatever and whenever You say. For You know (much more than we do) the hour is late and there is much work to be done. We give You praise, honor and glory for Who You Are! Thank You Father!
In Jesus Name we pray, Amen”
