Our daughter took this photo on a recent trip and as soon as I saw it, I heard, “What Shadow Are You Producing?”.
Of course, it reminded me of Peter’s shadow in Acts.
Acts 5:14-16ESV – 14 And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. 16 The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
Can you imagine seeing this today? Can you imagine carrying that much anointing that your shadow would heal the sick as Peter’s did? I am sure there are testimonies in this world today where it is happening because
Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Who is anointed? ALL Christians are anointed, by God to do His work, for His Kingdom!
Peter believed in knowing who he served and walked in his calling. I desire to believe like Peter did, knowing that it is God working through us and allowing His Spirit to do His will. I want the world to “taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalms 34:8)
During a missionary trip to New Orleans, we were on a prayer walk through the French Quarter when we bypassed fortune tellers in the “pit” (as locals call one street). We did not enter the doors of their establishments, yet as they saw us, they immediately made gestures that we were not welcome. Some started yelling, “Get out of here, get out of here.” Why? Because the group we were with had been fasting and praying in preparation for that day. No doubt the light of Jesus was shining brightly, without words. It makes me believe His shadow was cast around us in protection for us, and all was done for His glory that day.
So, if God’s presence (His light) can be seen in us in this manner, why wouldn’t we trust that His shadow can heal a multitude that believes?
Recently a friend and I walked through a nursing home to visit a friend. The atmosphere was so oppressive that we both were praying in the Spirit as we walked to that room. We didn’t need to say to one another, “We need to pray.” Our spirits knew to take action because of the oppression. But what an impact we could have made and seen if our shadows had healed all those patients within that facility! My, it is something for us to believe in, may our faith arise!

Today I want to ask you the question I was asked, “What Shadow Are You Producing?” This is a challenging question and one we must ask ourselves periodically as we continue to walk our path with God.
We realize we are to please God and not man, but we also recognize that we are to be representatives of Christ Jesus. So, when we exit a room, what lingers on the hearts and minds of those we leave behind? Were we gossiping about someone? Were we being arrogant about our talent, or possessions we obtained? Or have we filled their hearts and minds with Jesus?
Are we imitating Jesus, is it His Shadow we portray in the very life we live? This is the exact goal we wish to achieve. We strive for the excellence He lived before us, the example He showed us, and the direction He gave us in His Word.
