Have you ever found yourself going through so many trials and not understanding why? Yet, you find the strength to keep moving forward.
This makes me think of the young lady Mary, whom we read about in the Christmas story. Mary was ready to start her life, excited to marry Joseph; but all her dreams and goals were put on hold, or completely changed. I am sure that raising a child at her young age was not in her plans, but God chose her to give birth to the Son of God, Jesus. I am sure at times it felt more like a trial for her than a blessing. There were people criticizing her for being pregnant out of wedlock, there was always the possibility that she could be stoned for her pregnancy, she could be rejected by family, and even an angel had to confirm to her fiancé Joseph this child was supernaturally God’s.
Sometimes it is not enough to just believe, we must stand on God’s promises and His Word. An unmovable faith that lasts and endures through the storms of life is a supernatural faith!
Five things to help our faith:
Hebrews 10:22-25 – 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
The Word of God teaches us that the faith of the Patriarch’s was tested. Each Patriarch had to overcome obstacles of their own. Their writings and stories are in print for us to witness as examples for our own lives.
This next verse encourages us to keep our eyes on Jesus. By doing so, we will finish this race we call life. Verse two refers to Jesus as the “author and finisher of our faith”.
Hebrews 12:1-3 – 1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
In this day and age when evil seems to be abounding, this is a mandate that needs foretold:
Hebrews 12:14 – Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.
God’s Word is filled with mandates, promises, victories to behold. It is worthwhile for us to pray and study the Word of God for our benefit. Therefore, to give you an idea of what I am talking about, Hebrews, Chapter 13 is an Instruction Chapter. It teaches us how to live a “Godly Life”. Read that chapter and then look at these points:
Isaiah 9:6 – For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
It is our desire that you know Jesus, the Prince of Peace! Jesus made a way for every one of us to live with Him and Father God for eternity. Jesus is King and Savior of the world, and it is our choice to make Him Savior of our heart. If you already know this, praise Him with a thankful heart!
Making Jesus Lord of your life is this simple:
Romans 10:9-13 – 9…if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Hm from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing His riches on all who call on Him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
So, begin the new year right; repent of your sins, give your heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ, giving glory to God the Father, and watch what this change can do in your life! We are praying for you!
