As Mother’s Day approaches, some of us find ourselves dismayed that we cannot acknowledge the love we have for our mothers directly to them. But we can still honor them by the way we live our lives. All godly mothers have taught their children the ways of the Lord and their prayers are still essential for us. Also, remembering that they are rejoicing in heaven with all those that have gone before us should comfort our hearts to carry on.
If your mother is alive today, do not take this time for granted. I encourage you to gravitate to a heart of gratitude and honor her.
If you are a mother blessed with children, show your heart of gratitude and love your dear ones emphatically.
If you do not have children and your mother is no longer with you, have a heart of gratitude to be a blessing to all those that God has put in your life.

May this excerpt from “Tea Time With God; Treasures of the Heart” encourage you and bless your heart this Mother’s Day. Know your mother’s time with Jesus is more precious than we can conceive.
Please allow me to share how God’s grace encircled my mother before she passed. We all experienced many beautiful moments that we are so thankful for. I now call them “treasured moments of the heart.”
A few nights before Mom went to be with the Lord, I was sitting in the living room of her house, by the monitor, where we could hear her. She had been going in and out of a coma by this time, so the monitor allowed us to know when she was awake. I heard her say, “Why won’t you talk to me?” There was silence, and then she said, “Huh?” Silence again, before she repeated, “Why won’t you talk to me?” A brief silence, and then I heard her voice again. “I know, you are waiting for them to get me all shined up.”
I absolutely knew she was seeing an angel, and judging by her questioning, I knew it was not the first time she had seen it. I had been seeing shadows in her room and feeling the presence of the Lord as I prayed over her before and after this event. Is it any wonder that when she drew her last breath there was a smile on her face? Yes, there really was a smile on her face; it was witnessed by family members and hospice staff. How comforting to know that we are never alone! God’s Word tells us in Hebrews 13:5 that God will “never leave you nor forsake you.”

Today it is still comforting to me knowing that my dear mother stepped from this life into the arms of Jesus. How blessed she was to hear the words “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your lord.” (Matthew 25:23)
